On my 122nd post is one of the few Auto World that I was able to acquire before Walmart ceased to restock in our area. In fact it took me a while to find this model as this was a new tool at that time and either it was a victim of scalpers or Walmart was slow to restock. Presenting the first issue of the 1963 Dodge Polara under their Vintage Muscle series by Auto World.
I actually wrote something about another Polara, the 1963 Polara Max Wedge 426 which you can read below.
I am not sure but this is probably the less powerful sibling. Also this one does not have the hood scoop.
Let’s look at the model.
The doors and trunk do not open. The headlights and taillights are painted on and the bumpers are molded with the body as it does not have a lot of individual parts compared to M2 but the detailed is still good and no QC issues. Also comes with rubber tires and metal chassis.
The hood does open to show the engine.
Like most Auto World, this comes in blister pack with an additional box where you can store the car in it if you want to discard the blister package. I would rate this 5 out of 5 for good quality control, 4.75 out of 5 for play value as this has opening hood but no other opening parts will definitely survive handling by kids, and 5 out of 5 for detail.
