It’s been a while since I posted the sequel on my travelogue so here is the finale. Let’s check this Jeep lookalike vehicle called the Jeepney which is originally based on a customized version of the WW2 military jeep.
Just like the VW bus in the shoe store this is also a mock up of an actual vehicle which is use over here as a public transportation. This was spotted in a mall where it is use by a restaurant for dine-in.
I stop by this Tamiya shop which as most of us know is known for their plastic model kit.
In this shop I encountered another side of Tamiya with their battery operated race car better known as Mini 4WD. It is currently popularized predominantly by 1/32 scale and is AA battery powered plastic model race car without remote control. All four (4) wheels are direct-drive, thus “4WD” for 4-wheel drive.
There are multiple models you can choose from, whether for beginners or pros. You may assemble it yourself and the store will let you use their tools or you can hire their employee to assemble it for you. They also have parts and accessories that you can purchase and if you want you can also upgrade to a more powerful motor.
The store provides a race track for you to test or race your car with other hobbyist for free.
This place is called MOA also known as ‘Mall of Asia’, the largest mall this side of town near the Manila Bay. While there....
Hmmm... those pastries look tempting.
Of course can’t resist not stopping by for a nice Mango Bene.
Ok, I know these are just icing on the cake and you probably wanted the cake more AKA die cast stuff so let’s go check out some Tomica.
Here we have an independent toy store which I forgot the name is located in Glorietta mall in Makati. Their die cast section compose mostly of Tomica and even have a limited selection of Tomica Limited Vintage (not shown).
In a different part of town, (drum roll) Ta da... ToysRus shop in a mall called Trinoma and it’s actually still in operation.
Let’s go inside and see what they have.
Well golly their Fast Lane brand even have 1/24 VW collection and more which I’ve never seen offered in the States even when they were still in business.
More Tomica.
These display cases are awesome.

So now you’re probably wondering what type of hawl did I acquire over there. Wait no more. Here they are.
The last two are event models and are more pricey than the regular Tomica. Also notice that these event models somehow does not show the picture of the model on the box. I have already shown the Lamborghini in a previous post and will try to provide close up shots of the rest of the castings in their own post.
So now that we’ve seen the cars and finish our meal, let’s head over for some delicious tropical flavored ice cream.
And lastly I did have donut as the title indicated and it’s Krispy Kreme with their unique not available in the States flavor.
