Lights, Camera, "Forrest Gump" Ford F1 Friday

Life is like a box of chocolate cars... You never know if you will eat them or not.

Just so you know, that was a modified tagline of the movie.

What would have been your impression if you just saw a poster with a man (Tom Hanks) sitting on the right side of a bench looking to his left and have never seen the trailer nor have any idea about the movie? Would that still peg your curiosity to watch it?

Maybe or maybe not and if you have not watch it yet, this may get you to check it out as Greenlight has release a 1/43 model of a weathered 1951 Ford F1 truck used in the movie.

The thing with 1/43 scale is the model could either be pretty expensive running in the hundreds of dollars or in the low double digit. Greenlight falls on the low double digit but cost almost as much as a 1/24 scale model.

The look of the truck seems fairly accurate compare to the one in the movie but it was missing the confederate flag that was placed on the right front side of the truck and the paint loss and rust on the grill were slightly different. Greenlight could also have used accurate steel wheels instead of just removing the hubcap part on the wheel casting without including the exposed lug nuts.

Overall it’s a pretty decent casting and has good play value as I would be able to hold it in my hands and not worry about delicate parts.

Here is the 1:1 used in the movie.
