My little 2 yr old boy, ruler of the house, got this HotWheels ‘Cockney Cab 11’ yesterday. Opening the pack I discovered that the entire body is plastic, the only die cast part is the base! How long has this been happening? I haven’t actively collected for around 20 years and only started getting new cars for this little dictator of mine recently. Also had a look at some of his other stuff and found an ATV monster truck that was part of a set of four. They are sold as die-cast, it was writen on the box. The only die cast on these is the tiny hood that in the case of the one pictured last measures in at 17mm long, 10mm wide and 2mm high! What’s going on?!
If this is something that’s already been discussed to death or a non-issue then please forgive me as I’m new to this place.
Just the tiny hood is die-cast! It doesn’t even extend down the front drill area! Just a pissy little cap essentially. Outrageous.
