It’s not often I can contribute with a French Friday post but today I went out on a cast quest, it’s becoming a Friday ‘thing’ for me lately but more on that later, time willing. I will say it’s by far my best Hawl ever ever. Ever ever? Yep, EVER EVER! For now just sit back and admire this amazing little cast from Welly.
Because I said ‘Ever ever?’ Here’s some music that’s not French related but a good tune.
I’m seriously impressed with this and some other Welly casts I found. HW could really learn some lessons in tampo and general detail work from Welly. Here in Australia a HW/MBX retails for $3 for regular mainline stock. Sometimes a little cheaper but not much, this cast cost $1....$1!!! That’s crazy cheap! $1...one dollar. I’m a little excited, yes. I was approaching the cashier with 6 cards in my hand, this is $18 of HW mainline stock! $6.00!!! for 6!!! casts! And they are great quality.
But I digress, here’s the lovely little French car that could. It’s pretty much as famous as the VW Beetle so I’ll spare you any regurgitated facts as I’m not that up with the car other than a few basic facts.
All round detail is just brilliant really, the more I looked at it the more impressed I am with it.
Interior shot is difficult at this scale but some nice details on the seat are clearly visible here, holding it your hand allows more details to be seen and it’s not bad in there at all.
Just to show the texture and press studs in the canvas roof section. Outstanding in reality.
Happy little thing.
Even the different wheel tracks are present with the rear being narrower than the front, just as in the 1:1. Also the details on the underside include the suspension linkages for it whacky but awesome suspension design.
Unfortunately there are two minor paint chips straight out of the pack! Couldn’t see them until I cropped the pics! For the price I don’t mind and eventually Sonzilla will do worse to it.
Ok, I’m having trouble still making a decent length stop motion clip before the app crashes. As a result I didn’t get to finish this clip, it has come out a bit more abstract than usuall and is just 6 secs long. A lot happens in those few seconds, here’s the 2CV in another cheesy SMA production from Dairy House Productions*
* Dairy House Productions is a complete fabrication and is in no way connected to any actual production house by that name, if there is one.
