Technically this is Sonzilla’s first post, sort of. I dropped in to the local supermarket for supplies and had the kids with me. Naturally a visit to the toy aisle happened. While I’m checking the shelf of mainlines (that’s not been replenished for a while, but I still check it out anyway), I hear a high pitched squeal that is similar to the noise I make internally when I find a cast I’ve been looking for. Only this time it was not from within but rather the vocal chords of my 2.75 year old boy, a rampant HW collector who spends most of the daylight ours product testing for various toy companies. Usually it’s destructive testing. Anyway his excitement was due to the fact he had found his ultimate treasure hunt and said “Look daddy, Team HotWheels!!!!”
He found a 5 pack containing the character cars from a masterpiece of both cinematic brilliance and cross marketing genius that’s been on high rotation recently. It’s a cartoon from Mattel™ known as ‘Team Hot Wheels The Origin of Awesome’. As Sonzilla has an older sister I have been subjected to a few years of wonderful Barbie™ animations. I’ll watch Team Awesome ten times in a row if it’s a choice of that or ‘Barbie Swan Lake once again.(apologies to the motion capture dancers, it’s not you its me.) Anyway here’s his hawl, the casts are actually pretty nice. He is happy with them and wanted to sleep with Twin Mill and Baja Truck, his favourite according to him.

The casts is actually pretty good, no flaws spotted! Paint is really nice as well, maybe these are a treasure hunt thing? They aren’t, even though the TH logo is on the side. Info about that linked below.
