Get off my lawn.
Custom lawn tractor, now with axles!
Lots of bits for such a small model.
Here’s what it started out as. It’s wheel package was used in the Mountain Mauler mod from earlier today. I didn’t want to let the JD go to waste as the thing is pretty nicely detailed once you take a good look at it.
Only diecast component is the hood, it’s very well done especially considering how small it is. Tampos are really good as well. I made the axles from some thin wire I had in the shed. The black plastic is some 4.5 mm thick ABS off cut that I used for the new base.
Base taking shape.
To make the axle housing I heated the wire and pressed it into the plastic then let it cool.
Worked like a charm.
I drilled some holes in the new base to pick up the original mounting lugs, the holes fit so tight that I don’t need to glue or screw it together. The custom gods have been kind to me today.
Ready to roll. Many photos of the mower in different poses below.
I discovered that the seat flips forward just like a real mower during the build, nice touch who ever designed this cast. I’m not sure of the maker.
The following pictures may be disturbing to members of the public who are offended by ‘stance’, you have been warned, continue at your own risk.
For a close cut lawn always stance mow bro.
