[Custom] Yes, another Land Cruiser

Just a wheel swap and lift. Some of the avid readers of LaLD may be suspicious that I like UTES!! That is very true, the only thing I like as much or more is proper 4x4, something with a full chassis, solid/live axles and minimal plastic. My favourite 4x4 is the original Toyota Land Cruiser so the fact this cast is a thing makes me happy.

The lift was achieved by carefully cutting the area below the stock axles. I cut deeper slots to raise the LC, the slots were almost through the base but needed to be so I could fit the new wheels without any body mods. Although it looks close at the rear wheel arch there is enough clearance to allow the LC to roll, just. After fitting the axles I dropped some ABS glue in the slots to regain some strength in the base, seems to have worked.

Just as in 1:1 I’m amazed at the optical illusion that occurs when a vehicles ride height is altered. To me the lifted ones just look bigger over all, not just in height.

I like the gold rims with the bronze of the body, sooo much ‘80s!
