[Custom] '33 Ford Coupe

Here’s a few pictures of my latest custom. Matchbox already had this looking great but I had to tinker with it. Hopefully I didn’t wreck it? First a wheel swap then some paint details.

Ok so the wheel swap is sorted, kind of. Apart from drilling the rivets and tapping the threads for the screws the cast is not modified. The original wheels are able to go back in. Once the cast was apart the axles just dropped out as there are no retaining clips. I’m not sure which wheels or ride height I like best so let me know your thoughts in the comments if you want. Also you may notice the two different rim styles used on the rear, I wanted to try miss matched rims because Ratrod.

What do you think? I’m happy with it mostly but there’s a couple of areas I’ll go back over and tidy up.

Gave the engine block a coat of orange in an effort to mimic a Chevy, all the good Ford Rods have a 350 Chevy, it’s a tradition.

Grill was fun. Check out the coil springs and suspension arms/wishbones! Also worth noting is the disc rotors and calipers are present on the cast! First time I’ve seen this on a 1:64, anyone know of any other 1:64 casts with brakes?

I was happy with the tail light paint, got it first shot and no clean up! Not sure how as my back is bad and I was feeling the effects of my pain medication during this custom, nearly didn’t do anything on it but I was bored.

I’ve taken a lot of shots during the different stages of this custom. I’ll try and get a post of the strip down and some of more interesting details on this fine cast. Thanks for looking.
