Stolen and Recovered: Midnight Otto

Well technically it was ‘borrowed’ by Sonzilla for about a week. It didn’t return in the same condition as I lent it. Not that I expected it to but I didn’t think he’d trash it so badly and so quickly! It is not factory paint and I didn’t use any primer on it so in his defence it flakes off pretty easily, with rough handling!

He asked for it a day or so after his third birthday, he’s seen it on my Instagram and shed collection and always talks about it. When he asked if he could have it he made a fist shape parallel to the ground and said he wanted the “Blue Hot Ride that looks like this” (see fist). I knew which one he meant and after trying to ignore it and a couple more requests I caved in and let him have it. I couldn’t deny his need for a cast any longer as I knew exactly how he felt!

Both front and rear axles also suffered from misalignment issues. I’ve straightened them out since these pictures were taken. He was driving it over pink Play-Doh to leave tyre tracks in it when recovered for the pictures and axle straightening. Evidence of said Doh is still visible in some shots.

I’ll repaint it one day and leave it for him to find somewhere.

Thanks for looking.
