I don’t usually buy the fantasy cast but when I do...
...it’s because I like it!
Wasn’t familiar with this cast but when I saw the wing spanner then side pods I thought I’ll grab it for Sonzilla. He loves it so I’m glad I got it for him. He took it to daycare the following day and it even made it home! He asked me about a couple of things on the cast and then I noticed some features that I’d missed initially.
So the 3/8 on the side pods is the actual size of the wing spanner, no I don’t have a speech impediment. I love how the wheel arches are shaped like a stubby spanner.
So how many tools do you see in the design? I’m at seven visible as the cast sits with another two hidden under the cast. Three of them are actually useable, not useful but useable. The base of the cast is diecast so the wing spanner has some use but don’t try and apply a lot of torque.
Next usable tool is the 1/4" hexagonal socket, it will accept a std 1/4" driver bit so for light duties and a selection of ‘bits’ the possibilities are massive. Not that you’d actually have one of these casts in your tool box.
Took me a while but I eventually found a 3/8" nut to test the wing spanner out with. If only HW made a metric version... ;)
Just a helpful hint if you haven’t already found some of the ‘design’ tools.
So all here’s a list of the tools I can see. First three are the usable ones.
1. 3/8" Wing mounted spanner
2. 1/4" Hexagonal socket in center of base.
3. Ruler under front spoiler in Imperial measures. (Had trouble actually seeing this but apparently it’s part of the design)
4. 2x side pod spanners
5. 2x Philips head screwdrivers just inboard of the pods.
6. Stub nose pliers mounted centrally with the handle forming the roof and windscreen and jaws forming the center of the bonnet.
7. Tape measure case at rear of the body with the metal end of the tape being part of the diecast base.
