Matchbox Days of Thunder Race Car Transporter. I have pretty clear memories of my father letting me pick this out as a kid. Actually a cousin of mine was with us, and he picked out the Hardee’s Transporter set too, so we had “race teams” to pit against each other. Good times!
Even though the car is comically larger scale than the truck, the car is fantastic! The tires are plastic, but have nice raised letters, the suspension is super nice, even for a matchbox, and I’ve always liked that extra touch of the “Lumina” lettering being indented.
I also have a bunch of Racing Champions Nascar cars from the early 90's that I want to round up for a post someday. I thought I’d share the (somewhat cheap version) of the #42 Grand Prix:
Unfortunately they went with stickers on this one, but did at least tampo the tires.
