Another great find from my old stuff from when I was a kid. All of my old cars only survived being hand-me-downs to younger cousins by hiding out in the bottom of boxes and dark dusty corners. I think I even lost half my cars when I was a kid, because I had a LOT of little cousins in the 90's. I know a lot of cars were lost to the depths given away to little cousins during that time.

This one survived though! A 1986 Hotwheels year Crack-Ups “Front Ender” Buick Regal. Nice patina, still working great. A testament to the enduring solid design of the classic Hot Wheels car engineering.

The Crack-Ups series (for those who don’t know) is a set of Hot Wheels cars that could be “crashed” then repaired.

This one features a front end “collision” that pops open the hood and flips the front bumper instantly (by way of a tiny internal spring) so that it looks “Cracked-Up”

You can just barely make out the V8 engine detail, as the hood doesn’t open too far.

You would just rotate the bumper back into position...

Then, as you close the hood, a small tab latches it closed again and holds the spring.

Repaired and ready for more stock car racing on some fabulous 80's rugs and parquet flooring.
I had a few different casts from the Crack-Ups line back in the day, and hopefully I will find more of these to post.
For those of you that played with Crack-Ups as a kid, you know how fun these were.
