[Don Panoz, Tracy Krohn and Hot Wheels return to the United SportsCar Championship and Le Mans with the 6th iteration of their consistently competitive—and asymmetrical-Grand American prototype, with vast advances to cooling (a major problem that held them back in hotter and higher tracks in races), incremental improvements to reliability and a new rear wing, which has paid dividends in Sebring. With Chrysler still providing HEMI power, Panoz looks to once again challenge top runners Matra, Ferrari, Mazda, and current champion Nissan for both the world title and a win at Le Mans.]

I had a blast making these Panoz cars, and with Hot Wheels making renditions of the older Roadster-S, I had easy access to liveries. Did I get the look of the cars right? Weigh in here.

I finally got around to building a LEGO car in Tiny Turbo scale, thanks in large part to Flickr user //PROTOTYP, who dropped his 2015 Le Mans cars just as I was binge-watching both Truth in 24 films and races in Sebring and Le Mans from 2009 onwards.

This is the 9th—we’re past halfway!—in a 16-part preview for a fictional 100th running of the endurance classic, where 48 (!!!!!!!!!) cars from 16 (!!!!!!!!!) manufacturers tackle the Circuit de La Sarthe and try to outlast each other for 24 hours.

The plan is to make all 48 cars, both individually and as a team, then pop Bluerender to get them rendered before this year’s Le Mans race. Vignettes, studio shots and on-site shots will come up by then. Oh, and did I mention that I will post instructions for all three come race day?
