Dirty Dozen: 7: Around the City

Hello fellow LALDiecast people, its time for another Dirty Dozen post, where I go through my childhood cars and see if anything pops out or is interesting.

This week I thought I'd have the theme of 'what you see around town'. Also, I love how my image is flipped, despite me putting it in correctly. Thanks kinja!

Hot Wheels [1988] - I have never seen a ambulance like this in real life, but I wish I had. This thing looks cool, very unique in design. Anyone have any idea what the cab is based off of?

Matchbox Ambulance [1977] - I love the ambulance above, but these things rock. A truck cab, what's not to love? Plus I'm digging the white body with orange stripes across it. Very 'race-like'. I also enjoy how it says 'Dial 911' on the side.

Matchbox Leyland Titan [s=1:124] [1981] - Double decker bus = awesome. So apparently one's for NY and one's for London. Also, the scale is 1:124, so the real thing must be massive! I've never seen one in person, so I have no idea. I also enjoy how there is seating on each deck.

Hot Wheels [1988] - Ah, a generic school bus. I love the front end though, I think it's GMC/Chevy? Anyways, the one thing I would change is to make it bigger, it's the same size as the average HWs.

Matchbox School Bus [s=1:95][1985] - I have no idea what the make of this one is, but at least it has a scale. I actually prefer this one out of the two, probably because it's an older bus which I like. And I also like the 'School District 2' across the side, it gives a sense of realism.

Matchbox Ford LTD [s=1:69][1987] - I have no idea why, but I dig this car. Probably from it's 'archaic' look, plus I love a good boxy car. This car is easily one of my favorites, but it does look familiar....

Matchbox Ford LTD [s=1:69][1987] - That's why it looks familiar! I have twp cop LTD cars as well. The body is pretty much identical to the taxi LTD except for the roof of the cars. You have to admit, this older style of cars is quite attractive, its very simplistic.

Matchbox Plymouth Gran Fury [1970] - Since we're doing cop cars, lets just go through my collection. This Gran Fury is pretty neat. I like the blue blocks upon the car, without them ever touching each other. It creates a sense of disconnectedness, but its a really cool idea since the car looks very similar to a brick.

Majorette Chevrolet Impala [s=1:69][No. 240] - Ah, the French made, American car. This guy is pretty cool, you can see the seats inside of it. Sort of has a generic feel to it, which is probably important when you need to blend in with cars on the highway.

Hot Wheels [1977] - No idea of the make of model of this car, but I have three of them, and all three have different designs. Especially the blue one, which has the date '1977' stamped on the bottom instead of it being a part of the mold. It's very peculiar if you ask me.

Matchbox Peterbilt [s=1:80][1981] - PETERBILT! It has the same cab design as the ones in my 'Heavy Duty Extraordinaire!' But I noticed something very interesting, which you can see in the photo (barely), there is a person in the driver's seat! How cool is that! I'm not sure if this is true with all the trucks with this cab design, but its something I need to look into. Oh yeah, the review...um....what can I say, the mold is epic just like the other versions.

Hot Wheels [1974] - I was debating about using this one, but I couldn't help myself. This car is pretty oridinary except for the tires and rims. First of all, those rims rock. Secondly, those tires are rubber, not plastic. That's pretty cool if you ask me. The rest of it is a utility truck.

And as always, which one did you guys like the most?
