The S-10 is coming along nicely, and technically I can reassemble it right now and be done with it as is; but where would the fun be in that?
Currently I’m biding my time until I can get a few more things, like copper tubing and pastel chalk. I need pastel chalk because I want to make the sides look dirty (pretty much how my Grand Prix looks 100% of the time). I first tried oil pastels....that was a mistake. Oil pastels don’t shave nicely, nor do those shavings brush on nicely. You’ll soon see what I mean. I need the tubing to act as spacers for the lift kit.
The complete body shell, screwed together and the windshields glued back in (no turning back now). I actually primed the front bumper and painted that; the grill is the original darker red, which I thought was clever.
Squint and you can see my oil pastel attempt. It was a good idea, I just used the wrong materials; but it does look dirty. I also discovered I should probably use a lighter color for the dirt, to make it stand out more.

The rear of the truck, with the tail lights in. I feel it looks a bit plain, so I was debating about taking the Jada Ford COE’s license plate, cutting off the tabs, and putting it here (it’s not on the COE).
So that’s my update for the S-10. The purchasing of the supplies is taking a backseat to the shelf diorama, so I’ve been slowly getting this done. Still, it’s coming together quite nicely, right? :).
