The 2019 Crosstrek has a glove box light (like some but not all Subaru models of the last 10 years). Said glove box light only illuminates with the parking lights or headlights on, and stays on until the parking lights or headlights are turned off. It doesn’t matter if the glove box door is open or closed. I’m not sure how common this is across other makes, but as far as I can tell this seems to be the standard operating procedure for any Subaru glove box light.
