1977 was the last year for the magnesium cased transmissions, but they had all the internal updates and beefier components of later versions, so they’re extremely desirable. For equipment, I was just using Gunk Engine Degreaser Gel, an assortment of wire brushes to agitate the crud, and a pressure washer.
