Out with the old....

Illustration for article titled Out with the old....

Siphoning the (probably decade) old gasoline out of the Bajaab through the fuel line. Since I didn’t know how much was actually in the tank, I figured this would be smarter/safer than removing the drain on the bottom of the tank.

In the end only about a gallon and a half came out before it started sucking air. I tried to restart the siphon, but it wouldn’t pull any more out. I figure there’s probably another half gallon in the bottom of the tank, but I guess I’ll just dilute that with new gas. Surprisingly didn’t get any gunk or debris in the line, just varnishy smelling gas.

Also new fuel pump, it’s the only shiny thing in there, in the top right.
