Decided I wanted to try my hand at building a NAS out of old computer parts and hard drives I have laying around. How hard can it be?

It took a day and a half!!!, but that was due to a few hiccups (on/off switch died on tower case and had to switch to a HTPC case, iso burns to USB kept having crash errors).

Once I figured out that the I needed an older version of Rufus, everything worked and the install was without issue.

...the SSD at the top has the OS. It’s the one that would get completely wiped of data during the install.

And the 4tb of music, movies, TV shows, and animation on the 2 HDDs at the bottom will be fine even though they were connected at the time of the OS install to the SSD, right?
