My daughter and I were out in front of my house and a neighbor walked by with his dog. My daughter of course was interested, and he stopped and said “go ahead, you can pet him.”
I held my daughter back and apologized awkwardly before bringing her inside. He understood, but it was such a weird interaction. Sometimes it’s the smallest things that really illuminate the insanity of this situation.
