One of the only places under the front of my car that’s not protected by the skid plate is a plastic cover that recently decided to retire. Useless red circle shows what I’m referring to.
The part seems to be called an “engine cover” and looks to be protecting maybe the power steering pulley? The car is making a grinding / rattle noise that mostly matches the revs so I’m going to check to see if some of the plastic got jammed in there or maybe a rock.
Before I go digging, anyone familiar with Neons know what’s being “protected” by that plastic part and how concerned I should be? I have one race left this season in 3 weeks...
