Purchase Vs. List Price

So, I’ve been thinking a lot about what I paid for my brand new 2018 Kia Forte (*vomit*). It was listed as $17,330CDN/$13289USD on the window sticker. I walked out having paid $11,720CDN/$9019.86USD. Plus taxes, levys and fees.

That’s $5610CDN or $4300USD of MSRP. As a fraction of the original MSRP, it is 32% (by my math, keeping in mind I am an idiot).

If I got 32% off say, a new 911 Turbo S on Autotrader here in BC (List price, $238,310CDN) it would be a discount of $76259.2o off list price.

I kinda wanted to email Tom McParland and ask what the most he’s seen, in percentage of the vehicles total MSRP, get taken off. What is the most you’ve seen?

Also, as an aside. I remember when our dollar was par (July 22, 2008). Good times.
