The world list an inventor, innovator and hot rodder today. I got to know Ken Austin a few years ago through my in-laws who worked as his caretaker for a few years. To say he was a driven man would be an understatement.
Next time you are at the dentist, look to see if the chair says A-dec on it, and know that the man behind the company that made the chair was a major gearhead, and the proprietor of Ken Austin’s Rod Shop, which specialized in speed parts for Ford, Mercury and Lincoln Flathead V8s and V12s. He even showed me how you make an intake manifold or cylinder head via sand casting... He was a seriously cool guy who lived a hell of a life that should serve as an inspiration to anyone.
