Back in January, I posted about how the door handle cap on my rear right door disappeared one day. It seemed that the plastic that the bolt was screwed into broke off. I couldn’t figure out what broke it.
Today, I went to open the driver side passenger door, and the cap on that side broke in the same way. It looks like it’s just a shoddy part, and it broke on its own. JimZ’s guess may have been right that it was cracked on installation at the factory and snapped with time.
I took the screw out, and the broken plastic bit fell into the door. I can’t find the part anywhere online. I’m going to have to order it from Kia for another $60.
