I just got this in my inbox. It’s not that I don’t believe they have these for sale. This is a reputable scientific equipment supplier, and I am a bona fide researcher and previous customer. But still, this strikes me as being in poor taste. They don’t list the price in their email. I wonder how much they are gouging for these. I’ll not be calling them to find out.
In case anyone didn’t already know this, N95 class respirators are the masks most effective at filtering out contagion, because when worn properly, they give a good seal and force all air though a higher quality filter than most surgical masks have. Front line health care workers who interact with covid-19 patients and are at high risk are experiencing short supplies of these. It is not cool to hoard them or promote their hoarding.
