Well this got out of hand. (Ride on Toy)

Was going to soup up a ride on toy for the kids. I’ve converted three other ride on toys to use dewalt 20v power. Cool, do the same to the one that is actually for my kids and it goes 2 feet and poof.

Turns out this one is a different brand and has had a fancy controller board. Woops, toasty roasty now.

So, I google. Sure, simple “board bypass” instructions involving keeping the key, accessories, pedal and hi/low/reverse gear set working. Sure. Simple.

I dig in. I start connecting things. Then I realize “this is really designed to jump from one relay to another not just tie all this crap together...”

Right about here:

At this point, I’m giving up for the night. I may need to simplify this and ditch the key and slow speed and just have fast and reverse as I’m adding a PWM speed controller anyway. I’ve done a lot of hobby/tinker/microcontroller wiring, I’m embarrassed at what I’ve done in the name of “the kids want to drive it”.
