THE RACE

If you missed the race, check out the streaming list. All of the replays can be found there. Special thanks to everyone who streamed. A ton of great battles, but unfortunately the Sports-Proto class lost the momentum it had at Nurburgring.

THOUGHTS AND COMMENTS

The first hour of this race was some of the best racing we’ve had all season. At least for one class. Unfortunately, the Sports-Proto class was only two cars this time. Not due to lack of interest, thankfully, just a really bad weekend for everyone racing in that class. Conversely, the GT field was one of the largest we’ve had all year. As such, that’s where all the action was. And there was plenty of that. Even amid all of the roadblocks encountered during this series, every single race has produced close, intense battles thanks to my BoP that everyone says I rig your great driving. Unfortunately, the last 30 minutes or so took a sharp turn. One caution led to another and another. And I had to call a caution on a cool down, which is something that hasn’t happened in nearly two years. It didn’t help that I dropped from the lobby, which didn’t help with running things as smoothly as I would have liked. Of course, shit will happen but this would have been one for the history books if everything didn’t fall apart at the end. I’d still call it a good race though. Also Brad stop flipping your Alfa ffs I can only shame you for leaving Ferrari so much.

Now per all of your voting, we go to Monza in September! And it’s old Monza too. No chicanes. Should be a nice contrast to the last time OEC went to Monza back in 2016. Hopefully this time no one drives backwards. Unfortunately, for the first time in awhile, we will not have the possibility of a rain race. Possibly for the rest of the season as well depending on the December track vote. The voting thread for the date will be up very soon. Time options will be more open this time! RRIPA has finished up so we should be able to run on Saturday nights again. BoP will most likely change, since Monza is F A S T. I’m expecting similar to Daytona, but we’ll see. Either way, BoP will be done a week before the next round at the latest. Unless my wheel decides it hates me again.

Only four rounds left! Hopefully we can get the Sports-Proto field back for the next race. And I’m positive we can still race door to door like we have been doing all year. See you at the next race!
