THE RACE

If you missed the race, check out the streaming list. All of the replays can be found there. Special thanks to everyone who streamed. This was a small but very fun race. A small grid didn’t prevent any action from happening!

THE TROPHIES

As per the usual with our longer endurance races, the winners in each class shall receive desirable, expertly crafted trophies.

For his 1st place finish in the LMP1 class and the overall race standings, the trophy for 1st place is awarded to Corey CC97 (yay me)!

For his 1st place finish in the LMP2 class, the trophy for 1st place in LMP2 is awarded to JA 37 Viggen!

And for his 1st place finish in the GTE class, the trophy for 1st place in GTE is presented to DDM BigBen!

Of course, I had to make sure the relevant manufactures were made aware of their wins. The trophies will make fine additions to their collections.

THOUGHTS AND COMMENTS

Overall I’d say this was a very enjoyable race. Though small. We’re well beyond the end of life for Forza 7, and a player drop off was expected. That didn’t stop any fun though. It seems like everyone found their grove and found someone to race. Most importantly, everyone showed up with a good attitude and just wanted to have fun with the race. I think that played a big part in making the race as enjoyable as it was and was great to see. Thankfully we see that attitude a lot, but I found it particularly pronounced for this race. Gives me hope that even as Forza 7 winds down we’ll still be having fun. It was also another successful rain race. I think we will be doing a lot more of them in the future when possible...

Now that Le Mans is over, we can get back to OEC! Next race should be in early November. I’ll be working closely with Cow to avoid any conflicts with RIGTC, which you should totally also race in. Hoping to finish up the remaining races by Christmas. Then I have some plans for some end of Forza 7 series and events. I am also considering a change of venue for Round 5. It has been brought to my attention people dislike Catalunya for some reason. Hockenheim was suggested as a replacement. However, I also had the idea to race at Bernese Alps, since that would be a somewhat similar track to Pergusa, which the real Creventic recently raced at. Moving away from tracks, I am also considering changing start times from 8 PM EDT to 4 PM EDT. I figured it would be nice to do races earlier and get them done before dinner, though I don’t know if this will create scheduling conflicts for people. Let me know what you think about this and changing tracks for Round 5.

Le Mans is officially done and dusted for this year! Thanks to everyone who raced in both events. See you in a future race.
