L-JAX vs the Jets

The NY Jets defense allows 88.8 rushing yards per game this year. That’s 2nd of the 32 teams, with a sample size of 14 games. That means their rushing defense is extremely stout. With 86 yards last night, Lamar Jackson on his own matched the season average basically.

Jackson’s rushing yards per attempt is also at 6.9, and that’s 0.9 yards/rush higher than anyone else in the whole NFL. And it’s 1.8 yards/rush more than anyone with over 150 rush attempts. Anything over 5.0 yards/rush is considered amazing. That’s beyond staggeringly impressive from Jackson.

He’s 5th in total rushing yards for the season and teammate Mark Ingram (a dedicated RB) is in 10th.
