Desert Twisties

Headed down to the Old Pueblo to ride some of my favorite roads. Gotta be real careful on this route. Rough roads, coyote crossings, sand and no runoffs. Saguaros and ocotillo make for uncomfortable guard rails. It was a bit smokey, but it’s finally starting to cool off down here, so I’ll take it.

Last time I rode this area was about twelve years ago on my SV650. Little slower ride this time, but I enjoyed it just as much. Nothing beats cruising around the desert on a cool morning. I’m pretty impressed with the Shinko dual sport tires makes pushing this bike feel a lot safer. The rear brake bias also shines on these sandy, beat up roads. Black coffee, a cigar and a ride make for a great Sunday morning.
