If you remember last Saturday, I posted about the fact I had bought some champagne for some upcoming plans.
As some of you figured out, it was because I was planning a proposal to my girlfriend. Unsurprisingly, she said yes!
A couple of weeks ago, I had told her we would do a fancy date night on 10/23. It’s not that uncommon for us to go out for a nice dinner and drinks. That was all a ruse. What I did instead was take the day off from work, and spend it making eggplant parmesan from scratch, which was the favorite thing I’ve cooked for her, and I’ve made a lot of things for her.
Got all that ready, then I got dressed nicely, I put a bowtie and a jacket on and took the M3 over to her house, where I proposed, told her the whole thing was a ruse and that in fact we were going to my place to eat eggplant parm and drink fancy champagne.
It worked out about as well as I could’ve wanted. We both wanted something low-key, and wanted the night of to just be us. Made some calls to parents and friends and then just enjoyed the first night of this phase of our relationship.
