Today, Honda has pre-opened information on its website about the new “CBR600RR” that will be remodeled and will be announced on August 21, 2020 (Friday) .

The new “CBR600RR” is a super sports model with enhanced overall performance, equipped with a high-performance water-cooled, 4-stroke, DOHC, in-line 4-cylinder 599cc engine and adopting the latest electronic control technology and aerodynamic technology. It was developed as a just-size super sports model so that you can enjoy the high potential as a base model for production races using commercially available cars even in everyday life. In this model change, the high output and easy-to-handle output characteristics and agile handling, which are the characteristics of the conventional model, have been further refined to improve the power performance on the circuit and ease of handling on public roads such as winding. We are pursuing “joy of operation” by achieving both dimensions.

Once more for good measure

An update to the old dog as motorcycle manufactures are in a bit of a struggle to comply with emission regulations of the peaky 600cc class of street race replicas. The bike has been updated to comply with some countries emissions regulations (Europe is still a mystery). Power is likely to stay around 115bhp.

Included will be a new electronics package said to likely include refined safety and performance systems such as lean sensitive traction control and cornering ABS.

The refresh will be identifiable with front fairing styling closer to the new CBR1000RR-R Fireblade incorporating similar headlights and fairing mono wings. The 600 will keep its traditional under-tail exhaust.
