We’re seeing wildfire smoke in the sky, although it’s way, way up in the atmosphere, not messing with our breathing or threatening our homes. I feel for those of you affected by this in a real way, and not just seeing haze. Still, this is pretty amazing considering how far we are from the fires.
It’s really hard to find the source of the smoke we’re seeing, but anyway, it’s not close. This map is cool, but kind of busy and a little bit inconsistent - I loaded it once and it showed huge smoke plumes from California, Oregon, Washington (obviously) yet none of those quite reached New Hampshire; a few minutes later it didn’t show those at all, but it did show clear plumes trailing over us. Basically there’s a lot going on out there / up there, and some of it’s going over us right now.
Stay safe out there, left coast Oppos.
