Though in all fairness, it IS sorta rev matching. I do a similar thing if I have to downshift in the cruiser to smooth out the shift. More accurately I would call it load matching since you are unloading the transmission by temporarily matching the load to the engine speed. I think he’s vastly overestimating his skill and its importance though and its still super cringe.
There are few things that broadcast “I don’t know cars but I think I do” as much as a decepticon sticker though. It’s a clear a message as rockstar wheels on a lifted pickup signifying “I don’t need this truck, I just wanted it.”
