Ever closer.

Pressing in the bearings sucked, they just wouldn’t go in straight. I rethought my homemade press and got the big ones in fine, but one of the small ones went in janky and I’m pretty sure I ruined it. Thankfully it’s got very little movement and isn’t that critical for lateral stiffness. Got the new BB and main ring on and the new cassette. The shifter doesn’t come in until Sunday and I still am not sure I understand these new clutched derailleurs. The links are working great though, no more squeaky creaky and much more stiffness. once I get the drivetrain in its ride time!

Chainline is exactly 50mm per spec. I’m hoping with that, the wide/narrow ring and the clutched derailleur that I wont need a chain guide. The only thing I wish is that my rear triangle would take a wider tire.

Also I wish a drop post was in the budget this round. Eventually.

Oh and btw, Shimano can eat a big one for changing the size of the BB cups and then giving a razor blade masquerading as an adapter from the old to the new. If you use it in the old official tool as an adapter it wont fit over the new cups, and if you use it without the old tool it will slice the crap out of your hand and fingernail.
