Finally got my new seats in! it’s been years on the want list and I finally picked up them up today. They are a little overstuffed right now so I feel like I’m being pushed off the seat a little but it’s still better than feeling smashed up against the seat’s hardpoints.
They were over time (i made an appointment a month ago and dropped it off when I said I would and they still took 2 days plus the weekend, plus one more day, even though they said it would take 1 day), over budget (about a 1/3rd more than I was quoted) and they didn’t do it quite right. When I went to pick them up the bar that was hitting my back with the old seats was still hitting my back. We’d discussed this exact situation when I got my quote and I wasn’t about to pay what I did to have a rod in my back, so after my wife dropped me off with my 9-year old I made them go back and fix it...so I had an hour to kill. My wife came and picked up the kiddo about 40 minutes later as she was out shopping. Thankfully she makes the most of situations like this. It’s been an ordeal (minor ordeal) but they are in. The seat heaters are in and there are pigtails for the switches but I’m going to add my own switches (Toyota factory) into what I am told is a Toyota factory harness under the console. I’m just waiting on the switches to get here from Japan. Its been about 2 months.
