This is a really neat video...aside from the video part, which is the caffeine jitters of video editing. The story is good, so suffer on.
The trick to having a good professional explorer career is to find the company that will throw the most money at you. I can’t fault any explorer for kowtowing to their sugar daddies when it comes time to fulfill the ROI part of the money. You don’t get a polar-class sailing yacht or fully equipped vehicles by being allergic to marketing after all.
If you keep this in mind it makes this story a little more human and does give Mercedes some of the credit it’s due. If you want to build an image...this is how you do it.
Though I refuse to forgive the editing of this video’s XTREMEness. Treating the content as if it’s not exciting enough to keep my attention without cheap gimmicks is insulting to me and the efforts and sacrifices of the explorer.
Thankfully it tones down about 1/3rd the way in and becomes watchable again.
