So proud of my little warrior [politics]

I’m genuinely trying hard to find a place in my heart to wish this man well with his recovery. I recognize it’s the right thing to do, the human thing to do...but why does he have to make it so hard?!

I do hope he recovers, but the only reason he’s even in this war is that he couldn’t get a medical deferment from service. He’s a warrior the same way I’m a warrior when a hornet flies around my face and I indignantly try and swat it away at picnics.

From an image point of view this situation is one of 2 things:

1. NBD - The president is recovering well, is in no real peril, and showing that the continued downplaying of the seriousness of the virus has been justified.

2. Very serious and we should all be deeply concerned with his health as he fights with a dangerous virus.

or if you live in fantasy land

3. Both? This overblown, under control threat is a very dangerous and a serious threat.

As a marketer as well as a human I’m at odds with this messaging.
