Update: cleaned and tightened terminals and battery strap. I’m hoping it resolves the issue. The commute home was thankfully uneventful.
This morning, on the way to work, my car tried to die(?) three times while I was on the highway. Headlights and radio were on. The first symptom I noticed was the radio cutting out momentarily (in total it happened 3 separate ttimes where the music stopped and the screen went blank). The next time it happened, I noticed my speedometer dance from zero to the speed I was going, as well as the abs light coming on. After each occurance, the accessories all turned back on within a few seconds of shutting off, and I never stalled.
This is the first time I’ve experienced the issue. And the only thing I can think of is that it may be a faulty alternator (it was replaced three weeks ago). Any ideas on what the issue may be?
I did buy gas this morning, and it seems to run normal. Turning off and on as soon as I got to work did not replicate the issue.
