Lovebug Season

May is lovebug season here in Florida. The swarms number in the millions and seem to be never ending. The season only lasts about 3 weeks but during that time they get everywhere. Every couple days you have to sweep hundreds of dead carcasses off your patios and porches. They don’t bite or sting but they land on whatever is nearby so you are constantly brushing them off.

Not sure how easy it is to see, but every white dot is a dead bug. There’s probably around 50 squashed bugs.

Driving becomes annoying during this time. This picture is a 16 mile round trip to the super market. I had just washed and waxed the car before this. I’m basically washing the front end of the cars every time we use them. Luckily we’re only leaving the house 2 or 3 times a week.
