Tech cleanup day!

Going through my hoarded selection of tech today - I should not stack a laptop in the corner for 8 years after I stop using it...

Here’s my old daily driver - it’s one of the first 17" laptops, this thing was amazing.

It had one of the first dual core laptop processors ever (Core Duo baby!), had a very high resolution screen of 1440x900, dedicated graphics, took a ton of memory (4 GB!) and even had 2 hard drive slots! This thing was amazing back in 2006. I particularly loved the dual hard drives as I used it to leave my XP intact on one while putting another (or more than one ) OS on the second drive. This machine helped me get serious into tech.

The downside is that the fucker is like 2" thick and has to weigh something like 12 pounds. Picking it up today makes me wonder how I ever carried this thing around in my bag for so many years.

Next to go through is all of the flash drives and SD cards that got tossed into a drawer. Also hard drives pulled out of other things. That stack of HDDs is about half what I need to go through. Make sure I don’t need anything off of them - then smash them with a hammer. Data Destruction!!!

Ladies and gentleman - I used to thing I had mild hoarding tendencies. The last month or so I’ve been cleaning out the house with vigor and now am thoroughly convinced it was well beyond that! Don’t buy a big house people, it’s way too easy to fill with stuff...
