Lunch break staying sane (or attempting to) project

So taking my lead from the awesome ITA97 and his also awesome Pajero I’ve been giving my 1990 Mazda B2600i 4x4 some love this past week. It got a serious tune up this past weekend including: cleaning the MAF and throttle body, replacing plugs, wires, cap, replacing PCV valve, replacing valve cover gasket, ignition coil and fuel filter.

It ran much better after this, but still not great. Next is the downpipe (it’s more patch than pipe) and corresponding O2 sensor.

Today at lunch as it’s sunny and nice today I walked out the garage to it to gather parts for my next task and saw the new wiper blades in my parts stack and said I’ll put them on now. Then took a look at my wiper stalks - Damn they’re ugly!

Now the rest of the truck is no cream puff at all with a fair bit of rust but this is especially unsightly. Out come the needed tools - a cordless drill, wire brush and black spray paint.

20 minutes later and tada!

Now there was a ton of pitting on these guys so they still look bad up close and yeah there’s a tad bit of overspray but they look much better!

Next I’ll have to take care of the bumper in the same fashion. I’d love to do something with the paint, but have not the skills, tools or inclination to do so.
