I think I want to replace the Boostang next year...

I’ve owned five 4 cylinder cars, three of which have been turbocharged, and the largest of which was 2.5L. All have been and still are fun in their own way (Okay, maybe not the Astra, but first car sentiments.....And the ST’s honeymoon phase wore off real quick), but I’m kinda getting bored of this trend in my life and finally wanna step in to the world of bigger engines and more cylinders for daily driving.

Problem is that my Mustang too damn good at what it does. 380hp and 410tq, averaging 23-26mpg typically, and a driving experience that makes every daily drive great, nothing else could compare nearly 4 years ago, and not much can easily today in my mind. And I don’t want to replace it because “I bought the wrong Mustang” or that nonsense, I’ve just grown tired of having conceptually the same engine so many times. The Mustang was exactly what I wanted and even with issues here and there, it’s never disappointed me. It’s a tough act to follow in nearly every aspect.

My hope is that after I finish restoring the ‘64.5 by the end of this summer, I’ll have some spare coin to go with trading the Mustang in on something used that’s no more than $25k with a V8, RWD and manual as a new daily driver. So my thoughts are on an S550 GT (this platform is just great imo), a 6th gen SS (probs the most expensive of the options) at the high end, or an S197 GT (IF I can get past the live axle, and fewer creature comforts than I’ve got now) at the low end. I’d thought about 6 cylinder cars, but they always end up being P-cars (two is enough and I don’t need a third), and while I’m a fan of the V6 1LE........Ehhhhhhhh.

Of course this is all forward thinking and who knows what things’ll be like next year. Gotta get through this year first.
