Maryland is the shit, Jeeping speaking

In April, just as the pandemic was bringing the country to a standstill, this beautiful M715 popped up for sale on Craigslist in Maryland. I didn’t have the funds, and I certainly wasn’t going to drive several states away to buy it (although now of course I realize I could have had it shipped, and I’m kicking myself for not thinking about that and a loan, but that didn’t seem like an ideal time to spend big bucks on something I didn’t actually need, just lusted after).

Now, what should pop up in Maryland? Among the rarest Jeeps ever, and certainly among the most aesthetically-challenged: a CJ-10A, a variation on the also-rare and not made for US-consumption CJ-10.

I covered the CJ-10 in my truck series.

The CJ-10A was a short wheelbase Air Force tug with a diesel. And now you can have one for $4500 via eBay. Sure, that seems a bit much for such an ugly duckling, but think of the Radwood cred.
