You have $5000 and need to get a daily driver. But you must find a vehicle that is 10 years old or less. What’s the best option on your local Craigslist?
For me this 2010 BMW 535 is tempting, but the all caps ad and the high mileage are a little off putting. Also, those pictures are not recent as our trees still have leaves here. I’d maybe go check it out and see if he really does have proof of extensive service, but I’m guessing I’d pass on it.
The next option is if I want to go with my namesake and keep the V8 theme going. This 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 seems well kept and is all I’d really need for a commuter and a truck. Mileage is starting to get a little high, but the body will fall apart far sooner than the drive train probably will.
Finally, this is the one I’d most likely go for. A 2010 Mazda 3 Sport. It’s a manual and a hatch. It would definitely be the most fun to drive and probably the best commuter too.
