Rust mitigation - 3 done, 4th.... not so much

I attacked the drivers side today after work.

As on the other side, all the rust was concentrated in the rear 1/3rd of the frame. Bunch of scraping and brushing, and I was done.

Next, I went for the diff. I don’t have a power washer, so I rinsed it, then scrubbed it with my drill attachment.

Pretty happy with the result. I did the crossmembers as well while I was under.

I decided to remove the rubber bed mat, and work on the rust there as well. Some poking and hammering proved to be deadly to the bed - screwdriver went right through.

For these, I’ll have to schedule a time with my friend who has a welder and metal chunks. Two holes are right next to the bolts that hold the bed, two are in random spots which should be easy to fix.

The rubber mat is thick enough for the dogs not to cut themselves, so we can keep going for our daily swimming adventures.
