Out of all of the cars I’ve owned, I don’t have a picture of any of them for some reason. Anyway, here’s the list:
1986 Honda Accord LX. Blue on Blue, 5 speed. Drove until it was totalled in a parking lot accident at the mall.
Replaced with
1983 Olds Cutlass. Grey, 6 Cyl. Fun feature was the sagging headliner that I would periodically put back up with staples. This lasted 3 months and the engine siezed
Replaced with
1985 Honda CRX. Red, automatic. I loved this car. It wasn’t very fast, but it was pretty much a street legal go cart. Head gasket blew for the second time, so I got rid of it. Still regret that decision.
Replaced with
1986 Honda Accord from above. It was put back together and I drove that for a while until I sold it.
Replaced with
1985 Honda Prelude. Dark blue, 5 speed. My first car with a sunroof. That I somehow always managed to leave open in a rainstorm. I enjoyed that car, regret getting rid of this one too. I sold it because I found a different car I liked that I always wanted.
During this time I bought a 79 Camaro with a 305. This was a long term project car. I had stripped the Carmine Red exterior and was going to replace this with a blue interior. Also, color was to be changed from red to silver, before silver was so damn popular. I actually have no idea where this car is anymore. My stepfather owns a body shop, and I left it there as life got in the way. The shop had a second property and this property was sold a few years ago. Not sure what ever happened to the car as it was stored there.
Prelude Replaced with
1988 Chevy Beretta. Grey, auto, 2.8 V6. What a mistake this car was. It was a pretty bad omen when the center console where the window switches were caught fire 3 days after I bought it. This car also died from an electrical malfunction while I was traveling at about 80MPH in the fast lane of the NJ turnpike. Thankfully I was able to get it to the shoulder. Still trying to remember how I did it. I drove it for a bit after that and sold it.
Replaced with
1987 Honda Accord LXi Hatch. Grey, automatic. Great car. Pity it had an automatic though. That automatic was the death of it. When the transmission died again I got rid of it.
Replaced with
Saturn SL. Purple, 5 Speed. This car was as stripped as a car could get. Everything was manual, even the steering. No AC either. It was a good honest car though. Never left me stranded
During this time I also bought an 88 Town Car. Navy blue on blue, automatic. Girlfriend at the time needed a car, so she drove the Saturn and I drove this. Car ran good and was a comfy cruiser. Until the engine seized.
Town Car replaced with
1990 Chevy Corsica. Blue, auto, 2.2. This car had horrible driving dynamics, and had some primitive security system that just made the car hard to start when it was warm. It had this weird chip under the dash, kind of looked like a bigger SD card. Anyway, when this chip was pulled, the car wouldn’t start. It also wouldn’t start when the car got too hot. I took to throwing this chip in the freezer when I would visit someone’s house for a short period in the summer. Fun times.
During this time I also bought an 81 Camaro. 229, blue, auto, t-tops This one I figured I would drive until I could fix up the other one. I ended up shattering the drivers window due to rolling it up too far and it hitting the t-tops when I closed the door. I parked this car and it kind of sat until someone came and knocked on my door offering to buy what was under the car cover. (See, knocking does pay off)
At this point I got rid of the Saturn as I didn’t need two cars, and the clutch went.
Corsica replaced with
1983 Mitsubishi Tredia. Grey, 5 speed. Was a great commuter car, if not very basic. Manual everything. Oddly enough, even though it was a standard transmission, it didn’t have a tach. Just a big ass clock in the dash where the tach should have been. Sold this when I found something I wanted more.
Mistu replaced with
1988 S10 4x4. 2-tone blue and grey, 4.3, auto. I enjoyed this truck. It went through two engines, but I liked having a truck to do truck things. Unfortunately, I was broadsided in a parking lot and the truck was totaled. My stepfather bought the truck back from insurance and it’s still around today, though it has it’s issues
During the truck ownership I also bought a 1991 318i. White, 1.8, 5 speed. The E30 really is a fun car to drive. If you have the ability, I suggest you take one for a spin. I liked this car a lot. This car had 212k on it when I bought it, but it was perfect. Came with all service records and even a set of studded tires. Backed in to in a parking lot by a novice driver in a Ram pickup. You can guess who took the worst of that. Car was fixed and put back on the road. As much as I liked it, there were things that made me get rid of it. The biggest reason was that I have a size 14 shoe. When I wore my work boots (which was a lot because I did have to go to work), the pedal box was just too small. If I wasn’t careful, I would hit the gas, break, and clutch all with the same foot. Not good when you aren’t trying to do it. Also, the need for premium gas sucked. So, it had to go
BMW replaced with
1993 Ford Probe. Teal, 5 speed. This car really was a pretty fun car to drive. It handled great Car had an odd issue the whenever it would rain the rain would collect in the passenger’s door. I tried several times to remedy it yet I never could. Eventually got rid of this for a couple of reasons. My wife couldn’t drive a manual, it had an electrical issue, and I was going to buy a new car
Replaced with
2010 Nissan cube. Light blue, CVT. I loved the look of the cube. It was incredibly spacious with the rear seat removed. But, I just couldn’t take the driving dynamics. Nissan’s CVT was awful. It was like driving a sofa.
Traded in on
2010 Mazda 3 hatch. Blue, automatic. I like this car. It was night and day difference from driving the cube. It was a fun car to drive, even with the automatic. But, I get bored with cars, and I didn’t really get great gas economy.

2013 Subaru Crosstrek. Orange, CVT. I liked this car. It was an absolute beast in the snow with snow tires. I could just motor through things that most people couldn’t. But, the lack of power and not fantastic fuel economy got me in to thinking I needed something else.

2015 Honda Civic SE. Black, CVT. I actually was shopping for a Fit, but I just couldn’t find a comfortable driving position, so I went up a model to the Civic. I also didn’t really want black, but the SE only came in 4 colors, and I wanted the SE for the lane watch and the upgraded head unit. I still have this car, and am aching for something different. It isn’t a bad car to drive, but it just isn’t it for me. I know, part of that is that it’s a CVT again. But my wife doesn’t know how/refuses to learn a manual. And since we carpool and switch cars every other week, I need an auto. So, since I can’t have a manual, next car will probably have some type of shiftable automatic.
