Here’s a Montréal. I visited the Alfa Romeo Museum. If you haven’t been there, you’ve got to check it out, though it is not on a scale as large as the BMW or Mercedes-Benz Museum. Nice design, interesting installations, and it just reopened this year! Gear heads will enjoy it. The time it took me the survey the whole thing was merely 2 hours... though your mileage may vary.
One thing though; it’s very difficult to access the museum by public transport. We took the train to Rho Fierramilano, which took about 40 minutes from Cairoli Station and cost 2,50€ per person. Rho Fierramilano was desolate and empty. From there, we had to get a taxi... but there were none at the station! One thing I found funny was that the Alfa Museum site said that this was a popular train station... it didn’t seem so.
We had no phone, so we couldn’t call the taxi depot. After much complaining and irritation, we found a very nice guy in a Renault Scenic well-versed in English. We were able to borrow his cell-phone and call for a taxi.
The aggressive taxi driver appeared... in a Ford Tourneo Custom of all things. Speeding like a madman... he stopped abruptly in front of us. Long story short, the trip from train station to museum cost 35€. It cost 35€ to get back. Total: 70€ and my happiness.
If you want to get there... just rent a car for a day.
