The Decision: New Kid Hauler (edited due to Kinja killing the relevant pic)

I’ve made a couple of posts about our long journey to find a replacement for my wife’s aging 2008 Saab 9-7x, a car we bought for $10k with 65k miles and has run like a champ for an addition 65k miles. Since my wife’s previous car was a Fiat, she was not looking to go bigger. A sedan was ideal, but she was open to the idea of a crossover or maybe a minivan.

Long story short, after testing a variety of cars, we decided that a 2017 Buick Lacrosse was the best bang for our buck. Loads of features, plenty of room, comfortable interior, and depreciation means it is one of the cheapest options. But since most 30-something women are not exactly thrilled about driving a Buick, she wanted to make sure it was spec’d exactly how she wanted (trim level, color, features, etc).

That proved harder to find than we imagined, especially close by. So for the past few months we’ve been dragging our feet trying to find this combo. Finally, my wife decided she was actually quite happy with the Saab, and doesn’t really want to spend $30k on a car if she’s not thrilled with it. Plus she saw that plaid interior on the upcoming V60.

That left the window open for me to make a suggestion that she had previously deemed “not a family car”. So, let’s see if you can figure out what we decided, based on the reaction of my 5 year old.
